John Pugh has found that the visual language of trompe l’oeil allows him to effectively communicate with a very large audience. Viewers take delight in being visually tricked by life-sized illusions. Once intrigued and bonded by illusion, such as architectural anomalies or life-like people, his viewers are invited to visually cross into a mural further to explore and discover a deeper concept.
