Ashland Art Works - Elin Babcock and John Weston

Currently featured at Ashland Art Works are assemblages by Elin Babcock and wood works by John Weston. With a sincere interest in repurposing, Elin intuitively selects objects with a unique expression of their own and skillfully assembles them into a unified, balanced, and intelligent whole. Through this process, Elin transforms objects into a colorful and creative expression that adds character to any environment. Alternatively, John’s work is intended to provide generations of use and enjoyment. Mortise and tenon joinery, mitred splines, dowels, dovetails, and floating tenons are a few of his favorite construction techniques. John’s work consistently attempts to highlight the natural beauty found in selected pieces of lumber. His greatest satisfaction comes from using woods that are native to Oregon. Additionally, in the Community Gallery, are photographs that explore the timelessness of grief by Willow McCloud.
Don't forget to join them for First Friday Art Walk on Friday, July 4, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
