Currently featured at Ashland Art Works are woodworks by John Weston and ceramics by Penelope Dews. John's handcrafted woodworks use locally sourced materials with strict attention to construction integrity to create family heirlooms that are intended to last for generations while highlighting the natural beauty found in the materials that he uses. Alternatively, Penelope creates her ceramics with a modified coil process including some pinching and slab work. While most of her ceramics are animals, some floral elements and architectural references also make their way into her compositions.
Additionally, in the Community Gallery, will be Everyday Heroes - Healing Through Artwork, highlighting healthcare workers in Southern Oregon.
Don't forget to join them for First Friday Art Walk, taking place September 6, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
