Ashland Art Works - Penelope Dews and Michael Gibson

Currently featured at Ashland Art Works are whimsical ceramics by Penelope Dews and landscape paintings by Michael Gibson. Penelope creates her ceramics with a modified coil process including some pinching and slab work. While most of her ceramics are animals, some floral elements and architectural references also make their way into her compositions. Alternatively, Michael has worked as a designer, art director, and taught life drawing, illustration, painting, graphic design, and photography at the Art Institutes of Houston and Seattle. His passion for art, travel, and photography is reflected in his work. Additionally, in the Community Gallery, are ceramic sculptural works by Aziah McConnell.
