Currently featured at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum are carved wood sculptures by Betty LaDuke. Betty's work explores various human themes such as love, nature, resilience, and the importance of working together. While some of Betty's turtles are inspired by current events, others have been living in her sketchbooks for decades. Ultimately, turtles have become symbolic storytellers in Betty's compositions that comment on aspects of the world that are constantly reshaping our lives. As Betty emphasizes, her turtles have come to invite conversations rather than to provide answers.
Don't forget to join them for First Friday Art Walk, taking place November 1, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
