Langford Art Gallery - Beneath the Surface, Abby Lazerow

Currently on display at Langford Art Gallery are emotionally driven paintings by Abby Lazerow. Abby's work delves into the hidden layers of contemporary life. She uses layers in her work to mirror how memory, history, and conflict intertwine with the present. Her works move between realism, expressionism, and abstraction, guided by color and light, to reveal and conceal. Human connection is central to her exhibition, particularly romantic couples, highlighting themes of tenderness, tension, perseverance, grief, and power dynamics. Additionally, Abby's work addresses broader societal issues like social divisions and systemic injustices, symbolizing protest, injustice, and the longing for reconciliation.
The exhibition will remain on display until Saturday, November 29. On Saturday, October 25, at 5:00 p.m., there will be a Community Building Presentation. On Friday, November 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Second Phriday Art Walk in Phoenix will take place. For those who are interested in attending, please click here for more information.
