Scavenger Studios - Reduction Woodcut Workshop with Vanessa Jo Bahr

Join Scavenger Studios and Vanessa Jo Bahr for a Reduction Woodcut Workshop! Participants will learn a multi-layered relief approach known as reduction, a printmaking technique where a single woodblock is carved and inked to create a multi-colored image. Participants will arrive with a three-color sketch (digital or hand drawn) that will be used to inform their carving. They will be instructed on transfer methods, registration, carving skills, and guided through the entire printing process layer-by-layer as their image unfolds. Each participant will leave with ten finished three-layer relief prints. All materials will be provided and no prior relief printmaking experience is necessary.
