Rogue Valley Pottery Supply and Studios - Egyptian Faience Ancient Ceramic Bead Workshop

Join Rogue Valley Pottery Supply and Studios, Julie Furrer, and Rosie Taylor to experience the ancient process of Egyptian Faience, a ceramic bead that is brightly colored with cobalt blues and coppers, which make vibrant greens. Sometimes referred to as Egyptian Paste, it has a self glazing effect because salts from the paste come to the surface as it dries and creates an outer shell. After firing the dried clay paste, these little decorations glow with vibrant natural pigments ready to be joined together in a piece of jewelry in this fast drying, but fun experience.
