Born in Los Angeles California, I began painting at the age of eleven. My early influences were my mother, an artist, and my father, an architect, whose passion for the Bauhaus style and Modern Art inspired my love of abstraction. Painting has always been something I just had to do, a need, a compulsion. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from San Diego State University in 1995, where I majored in painting and minored in sculpture. I went on to receive my teaching credential and taught art, 3-D design, and ceramics for seven years. My longing to produce art full time, and a desire to slow down and feel connected to a community, led my family and I to Southern OR.
Over the last 19 years I have been producing art and selling throughout the US.My paintings have sold from galleries here in Southern Oregon and galleries in California, Washinton State, and Washington DC. My hand painted clocks have been represented in 42 galleries across the US and online through Artful Home.
There is a cycle between creating art and sharing it with others. When others enjoy my art, I am ecstatic and it fuels my creative energies further.
My primary goal is to capture a tranquil mood. I do this with subtle blends of color and value to create both a peaceful and bold expression. Hopefully this will allow you the viewer, to visually step into them and meander awhile.
