Inspiration for my art comes from biology and the microscopic world, from the amazing forms by which life organizes itself, whether they be cells and parts of cells, or tissues, organs, and entire whole plants and animals. All these forms are infused with brilliant life-affirming colors, like the organisms flowing out of the tubes in, “Life,” fomerly on loan at the Norris Center for Natural History at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
