WATERCOLOR & INK
Rogue Gallery & Art Center, 40 S. Bartlett St, Medford
Pam Shay was born in San Francisco, California and lived in the Bay Area her entire educational career. Pam retired to Ashland, Oregon in 2016. Experiencing a limited art education in pre-retirement years, watercolor and ink were fairly new mediums for her. She finds them to be a good match for her view of the world. They bring alive---in a very clear, luminous way--- the simple and amazing beauty of things.
Pam is a member of the Rogue Gallery and Art Center of Medford, Oregon. She has exhibited in over a dozen juried art shows from 2017 to the present. Her artwork can be found in several private collections in California and the Rogue Valley. Her most recent honors include being selected for the National Pure Bred Dog Day online exhibition in 2022 and awarded the winner of the national American Association of University Women Art Contest in 2024.
Pam spends her creative time sketching, refining ideas, and resolving artistic challenges. In the end, she hopes to bring it all together in paintings that show her excitement and amazement. Silly dogs. Playing children. Dramatic mountain and desert scenes. All of these subjects bring her great joy.
